The Chaplet of Saint Michael the Archangel in Latin and English (2021) contains the prayers of this popular devotion which can be traced to 1751 Portugal, when the Carmelite nun Antonia d’Astonac experienced an apparition of Saint Michael the Archangel. He told her that he wished to be honoured by this devotional prayer that has since become known as the Chaplet of Saint Michael the Archangel. This private revelation was approved by Blessed Pius IX by a decree of the Sacred Congregation of Rites (Sacrorum Rituum) on 8 August 1851.
