The event was seen as a signal from Allah—a blessing, if you will. It was their opportunity to establish a Caliphate within what had once been the United States of America. With no functioning government, law enforcement, or even the once-powerful U.S. military to oppose them, they moved to build a nation governed by their interpretation of Islam, with Sharia Law as its foundation.
As the Army of Allah swept through the Midwest, they murdered, raped, and enslaved anyone who refused to submit to their prophet. These were American citizens who had already survived one of the worst disasters in human history, only to face another catastrophe that pushed them even further back in time. Their children were taken, and their teenage sons, fathers, and husbands were conscripted into the Army. Those who refused to fight watched their families executed.
While the Caliphate rampaged across the Midwest, the U.S. Army at Camp Grayling—led by Colonel Rodgers—chose to remain behind its gates. Although they had the capability to defend themselves and the surrounding civilian population, Colonel Rodgers had no orders authorizing him to act.
This is the continuing saga of the United States after the EMP event and its struggle to rebuild. Guided by U.S. military forces operating out of several installations in Northern California, the fractured nation is slowly beginning to stand again. These Soldiers remain loyal to their oath—to defend the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
